2011 National Database Contest
NAFHA is holding a National Database Contest for 2011! The goal of the contest is to raise awareness of the association's NAHERP.com database. Contestants receive one point for every entry they make into the database and an additional point for every county and species for which they enter data. Being the first person to enter a particular county into the database, the first to enter a species into the database, and getting a country record for a species all garner additional points.
There are two separate national contests - one for all records entered in 2011 (no matter when they were seen), and a second specifically for herps actually seen and recorded in 2011. In addition, the 2011 contest is split into four seasonal sections - January to March, April to June, July to September, and October to December. This gives people from many different regions of the country a chance to compete at the time when their herps are most active.
Use the following two links to see the contest scoreboards. All columns are sortable by clicking on the column heading.

As a new wrinkle this year, Brian Hubbs offered these prizes for the 2011 contest
A second new feature is the regional scoreboards, showing the leading data collectors in each NAFHA region:

If you would like to participate, just go to www.naherp.com and start entering records. Only records with photo or audio vouchers and the basic location, date, and species count towards the contest. Happy herping!
