Fallbrook Land Conservancy Survey

The community of Fallbrook, California, is located near the junction of state highway 76 and Interstate 15, a short 18 miles inland from the Pacific Coast in the beautiful hills of North San Diego County. Fallbrook Land Conservancy volunteers have worked long and hard to create 10 preserves, an area totaling over 1,380 acres of public land, trails and natural habitat for the enjoyment of walkers, joggers, naturalists and equestrians. The meandering trails follow river beds and mountain ridges which provide views of the region's surrounding landscapes and natural beauty only accessible by physical exploration. In late 2010, NAFHA members Kent VanSooy and Lee Hull approached Fallbrook Land Conservancy President Mike Peters with an offer to conduct a herpetological survey of the Conservancy's preserves situated in various locations throughout the community. Mike and his assistant Kenneth Weaver graciously and enthusiastically excepted the offer. The survey was organized in the spring of 2011 by Steve Bledsoe, assisted by fellow NAFHA members Lee Hull, Richard Dunn and Noah Anderson, and is currently in progress.
